DETAILED ITINERARY
Day 1: Arrival and Transfer to Akagera national park
Arrival: Upon airport arrival at Kigali International Airport on day 1 of 3 days of the Akagera wildlife safari & Rwanda city tour, you will meet and greet our tour representative and have a safari briefing as he explains what you will do during this trip as you transfer to the eastern part of Rwanda direct to Akagera National Park, where you will check in at the lodge for a later lunch or dinner depending on your arrival time. A drive to Akagera National Park is short, taking about 2-3 hours; thus, even if you arrive in the afternoon, you will be able to sleep at the park.

Day 2: Game drive and boat cruise
Game drive: After breakfast on day 2 of 3 days of the Akagera wildlife safari & Rwanda city tour, your safari driver will pick you up from the lodge for an early morning game drive within Akagera National Park. Be sure to spot a lot of wildlife species, including mammals such as elephants, lions, giraffes, leopards, and buffalos, among others.
The park is also a home to several species of birds so during the game drive, you will watch a lot of them as they fly from one plant or tree to another while singing sweet melodies that will keep you going and enjoying the game drive. Among the bird species to spot during a game drive include herons, jacana and many more. Return to the lodge for lunch.
Afternoon boat cruise: In the afternoon after enjoying lunch on day 2 of 3 days of the Akagera wildlife safari & Rwanda city tour, you will be transferred to Lake Ihema, where you will enjoy a boat ride while watching different bird species such as shoebill storks and other water birds like Papyrus Genlok and different species of mammals at the lake shore, including hippos, crocodiles, elephants, buffaloes, zebras and many more. Later in the evening, you will be driven to return to the park for dinner and overnight.

Day 3: Return to Kigali for a city tour and departures
Return to Kigali: Being the last day of the 3-day Akagera wildlife safari & Rwanda city tour, you will enjoy breakfast at the lodge and then check out of the lodge to be driven back to Kigali. Once in Kigali, you will enjoy a Kigali city tour exploring some of the 1994 genocide memorial grounds where you will be introduced to the history of the Rwandan genocide that claimed a thousand lives of Rwandans.
Lunch will be enjoyed during the city tour at any hotel and proceed with a tour to visit the Kimironko market and have a visit to the craft shops for some souvenirs. Later on, you will be driven straight to Kigali International Airport for departures and your 3 days Akagera wildlife safari & Kigali city tour will be done.
