Nyungwe National Park is found in the southwestern part of Rwanda bordering Burundi Discover the park on 3 Days Chimpanzee Tracking in Nyungwe National Park. Day 1: Transfer to Nyungwe National Park from Kigali.

Early morning pickup from Kigali International Airport or hotel of residence in Kigali by a company representative/guide/driver; he will give a short brief about the 6-7 hour’s drive journey with lunch en route to Nyungwe Forest National Park. The park is located in southwest Rwanda, where you will be able to see beautiful landscapes, tea plantations, and hills. Proceed to the park and connect to your booked lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

Day 2: Chimpanzee tracking and canopy walk in Nyungwe Forest National Park

You will enjoy an early morning breakfast and go for a briefing where you will be advised of the rules and regulations of trekking chimpanzees before entering the forest to start the trek adventure in Nyungwe Forest National Park (Cyamudongo chimps group) that takes 3-4 hours.

The time taken to find the chimps cannot be predicted as they are moving from place to place; however, chimpanzees are easy to spot as they jump from one tree to another, chattering and laughing. You spend a maximum of one hour following them around as they go about their normal lives. Meeting the chimpanzees in the wild is a great experience.

The chimps are very active primates, always moving from tree to tree so sometimes you are trying to catch up with them. They communicate by way of loud pant hoots, deafening screams and thunderous hitting of the tree barks, causing the hairs on your body to rise as you feel a rush of adrenaline…or call it catching fear! After the amazing chimpanzee trekking adventure in Nyungwe you will return back to your lodge lunch.

Canopy walk

Later connect for canopy walk experience in the afternoon. You will go on walking trail that will take you to canopy walk Swing Bridge 50 meters in length that is suspended from large trees. You will  able to see the amazing rainforest  with bird eye view , spot wildlife moving below   and later return to the lodge for dinner and overnight stay

DAY 3; Back to Kigali
